The 25th Annual Atlantic Plunge takes place to ring in the New Year at Gooch’s Beach Kennebunk on January 1 2026. This chilly Polar Plunge event is typically held New Year’s Day! Registration for this refreshing swim, registration fee is $25.
What better way to ring in the New Year than a chilly swim in the Atlantic?! It’s called the Atlantic Plunge and it’s a very refreshing way to start the New Year. Brave souls don their bathing suits, hit the beach, and dip into the ocean at Gooch’s Beach in Kennebunk Maine (aka Kennebunk Beach). They call it Freezin’ for a Reason, because the proceeds from each swimmer’s fundraising go to Caring Unlimited. Polar Plunge participants must raise and donate $25 or more to dip.
